Undergraduate Concentrations (CX)

Concentrations (CX) let undergraduate students build focused, interdisciplinary expertise alongside their degree by completing a defined set of elective courses in an emerging or high-demand field.

The Department of Chemical Engineering hosts five concentrations and contributes courses to several others hosted across the University. Each concentration below lists its required courses by term.

Eligibility & Requirements

Minimum GPAA minimum GPA of 2.0 is required, applicable to all B.Sc. students at KFUPM.
Credit hours completedStudents who have completed 79–115 credit hours. KBS students may enroll within a range of 50–110 earned hours.
Course progressStudents who have completed all junior-level courses of their major are eligible to enroll after completing the relevant prerequisites.
RestrictionsStudents in an applied major cannot enroll in concentrations. Students planning to take an Internship or Co-op are not eligible to take a concentration.
