On January 26th, 2022, a momentous cooperation agreement was signed between the Chemical Engineering Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) and Aspen Technology, K.S.A., ushering in a new era of academic and technological collaboration. Hosted in the stately premises of the College of Chemicals & Materials, the event was a meeting of minds featuring Dr. Hassan M. Baaqeel, Chairman of the CHE Department, and Dr. Craig A. Smith, Managing Director of Aspen Technology. Also in attendance was Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Saadi, the Dean of the College of Chemicals & Materials, along with other esteemed members.
This groundbreaking agreement paves the way for AspenTech to deliver world-class technical training in the realms of process and asset optimization technologies, as well as operational analytics, to both students and faculty at KFUPM. In addition, AspenTech will furnish KFUPM with an array of electronic course materials designed to enrich training sessions and facilitate curriculum development.
The partnership, officially commencing on February 2, 2022, is set to span an ambitious three years, concluding on February 1, 2025. The signing ceremony was followed by a delegation visit to the office of the Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA), cementing the significance of this alliance for the academic future of KFUPM.
