On October 2, 2023 King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals
(KFUPM) had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Viktor Hacker, who's a
professor, at Graz University of Technology, Austria. Dr. Viktor
delivered a seminar titled "New Materials for the Energy Transition with
Hydrogen" in Auditorium 125 located in Building #04. The seminar
commenced at 1:10 PM and concluded at 2:10 PM.
During the seminar
Dr. Viktor explained how advancements in technology are essential for
long-term decarbonization. This involves optimizing processes using
renewable energy for high-purity green hydrogen production. Moreover,
efficient manufacturing processes are also crucial, especially in
electrode fabrication for high current density cells, requiring specific
catalyst layer properties and ionomer distribution.
The seminar
encouraged faculty members and students to participate and emphasized
the importance of collaboration within academia. Attendees also had the
option to conveniently register for the seminar online ensuring an
experience for all participants.
This event served as a testament to KFUPMs commitment, to promoting excellence and fostering research endeavors.
