Biography

Dr. Yousef Abdulrahman Alsunni is an Assistant Professor in the Chemical Engineering Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM). He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado Boulder (2023) and both an MS (2016) and BS (2013) from KFUPM. Prior to his current role, he served as a Lecturer and Graduate Assistant at KFUPM and as an Engineer IV at ARAMCO's Research and Development Center. His research focuses on theoretical and computational approaches to understanding surface phenomena and reactions. Specific areas of interest include Grand Canonical Density Functional Theory (GC-DFT), electrochemical reactions, heterogeneous catalysis, and Wulff construction methods for analyzing surface energy.
