Biography

Dr. Wael Ahmed Fouad is an Assistant Professor in the Chemical Engineering Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM). He obtained his BSc in Chemical Engineering from The Petroleum Institute, Abu Dhabi, UAE, in 2010 and completed his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Rice University, Houston, Texas, USA, in 2016. His doctoral research was recognized by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), earning both the best fundamental and best applied paper awards in 2015.

After concluding his doctoral studies, Dr. Fouad served as a Teaching and Research Associate at The Petroleum Institute for two years. He joined KFUPM in 2019, where his current research focuses on the study of complex fluids' phase behavior, employing methods such as molecular theory, molecular dynamic simulations, phase equilibrium experiments, and spectroscopy.

In 2022, Dr. Fouad co-founded the Green Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Lab (H2FCL) in collaboration with the Chemical Engineering Department and the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Smart Mobility and Logistics (IRC SML). The lab aims to conduct experimental studies on hydrogen-integrated systems for mobility applications. Dr. Fouad currently instructs courses in the Chemical Engineering Department, including Thermodynamics (CHE 303 and CHE 565), Fuel Cells (CHE 444), and Renewable Energy (CHE 424).
