Biography

Dr. Sagheer A. Onaizi holds the position of Associate Professor in the Chemical Engineering Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM). He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Queensland, Australia, in November 2009. Prior to joining KFUPM, Dr. Onaizi served as a Lecturer at Newcastle University, United Kingdom, where he was recognized as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. His academic credentials also include a Professional Doctorate of Engineering in Process Development from the University of Twente, The Netherlands.

Dr. Onaizi's current research portfolio encompasses the synthesis of nanostructured materials and their multifaceted applications, ranging from wastewater treatment to CO2 capture and from drilling mud formulations to construction and building materials. He also has specialized expertise in biomaterial applications for wastewater treatment and in colloidal systems such as nanoemulsions.

Beyond his individual research pursuits, Dr. Onaizi has secured multiple funded projects, contributed to scholarly journals, and initiated several patent applications, some of which have been granted. Complementing his research, he has also taught a wide array of core and specialized courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
