Biography

Dr. Mohammed serves as an Assistant Professor in the Chemical Engineering Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. He commenced his academic trajectory with a B.Sc. from Cairo University in 2007, followed by an M.Sc. from the same institution in 2010. Transitioning to a Ph.D. program, he joined North Carolina State University's Chemical Engineering Department, earning his doctorate in 2015. Before his current appointment, he furthered his research skills as a post-doctoral scholar at Purdue University's Mechanical Engineering Department.

His research activities are chiefly focused on soft materials, particularly gallium-based liquid metals. This research has direct applications in the areas of flexible electronics, sensors, imprinting, 3D printing, and large-scale fabrication for soft robotics. Dr. Mohammed employs a multi-disciplinary approach, bridging the gap between materials science and applied engineering.

In addition to his experimental pursuits, he has a strong background in process modeling and simulation. Utilizing commercial software such as Aspen Plus, Dr. Mohammed integrates both theoretical and computational aspects into his research endeavors.
