Biography

Dr. Alasiri serves as the Director for the Center for Refining & Advanced Chemicals as well as an Assistant Professor in the Chemical Engineering Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) in Dhahran. He holds a Ph.D. from Rice University and both an MSc and a BSc from KFUPM, specializing in Chemical Engineering.

His research portfolio is broad and interdisciplinary, encompassing catalysis, kinetic reaction and modeling, surface reactions, and molecular simulation. Additionally, he has particular expertise in enhanced oil recovery using surfactants, interface properties, and phase behavior. His technical skills extend to computational kinetics, modeling, and simulation.

Dr. Alasiri has been an active member in numerous departmental, research institute, and university committees. He has been instrumental in spearheading various programs and establishing international collaborations. Notably, he has led initiatives in collaboration with industry leaders such as Honeywell UOP, Sinopec RIPP, and has overseen the Saudi Aramco Catalysis & Petrochemicals Chair program at KFUPM.
