Summary
Dr. Haris Ishaq is an Assistant Professor in the Chemical Engineering Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM). He received his Ph.D. from Ontario Tech University, where he received the Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award in 2021 for his research. Dr. Ishaq is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada and served as Chief Engineer in the Low Carbon Fuels Branch at the BC Ministry of Energy and Climate Solutions, Canada. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Victoria.
Recognized among the Top 2% energy scientists globally (Stanford University, 2022–2024), his interdisciplinary research spans Process Modeling and Design, Hydrogen and Ammonia Production, Direct Air Capture, Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Sequestration (CCUS), E-fuels, LCA, and TEA, and Sustainable Energy Systems. He has co-led high-impact international research projects, including the Solid Carbon project, Mitacs, NSERC Alliance, and BC Green Shipping Corridors Assessment.
Dr. Ishaq is widely published, with over 60 peer-reviewed journal articles, numerous conference proceedings, and one reference book. He serves on multiple scientific committees and as an Editorial Board Member for IOP Journal of Physics: Energy and Scientific Reports Journal.
