Dr. Eid M. Al-Mutairi is an Associate Professor in the Chemical Engineering Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM). He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University, USA, in 2008. Additionally, he holds both a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from KFUPM. Dr. Al-Mutairi specializes in energy and process optimization, as well as synthesis and design within the chemical engineering domain. His research portfolio encompasses the formulation, modeling, and resolution of optimization problems using mathematical programming techniques. These methods are applied to both deterministic and stochastic optimization challenges. The applications of his research are diverse, spanning energy conservation, environmental impact, process safety, and process intensification.

In his educational role, Dr. Al-Mutairi has taught an array of graduate and undergraduate courses on topics ranging from kinetics and reactor design to heat transfer and process integration. He has also coordinated and overseen senior design projects for final-year students.

As a contributor to industrial education, Dr. Al-Mutairi has delivered multiple courses targeted at professionals in the field.
