Biography

Dr. Sagir Adamu holds the position of Research Specialist in the Chemical Engineering Department and is also affiliated with the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Refining & Advanced Chemicals (IRC-RAC). His specialization lies in reaction engineering and catalyst development, particularly in the domains of heavy oil upgrading, gasification, and gas processing. Over his academic career, he has amassed a noteworthy body of work, comprising more than 30 publications that cover a broad spectrum of topics including gasification, oxidative cracking/dehydrogenation, desulfurization, polymerization, and kinetic modeling.

In addition to his research endeavors, Dr. Adamu serves as the Laboratory Manager in the Chemical Engineering Department. In this administrative role, he is responsible for coordinating the activities of technical staff, which includes the operation and maintenance of equipment, procurement procedures, and the enforcement of safety protocols across all Chemical Engineering laboratories.
