Biography

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at KFUPM which I joined in 2019.  I am an affiliate of the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Refining and Advanced Chemicals. I am also an elected board member of the Saudi Arabian section of the Combustion Institute (SAS-CI).

I did my Ph.D. and post-doc stint at the Clean Combustion research center (CCRC) at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). My research interests are in the domain of petroleum fuels for transportation and energy generation. I am interested in producing carbon-neutral, advanced sustainable future fuels that will power future engines. I am also interested in using machine learning (ML) techniques for predicting fuel properties and designing fuels of the future. I am also interested in the application of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) in the areas of combustion. I have published over 50 peer-reviewed research articles in top journals.
